VinFast’s Vietnam Manufacturing Entity Officially Renamed
VinFast’s restructuring of its manufacturing operations in Vietnam has reached a new milestone, with the legal entity responsible for production now operating under a name that no longer carries the VinFast brand.
Background: A Restructuring Process Underway Since Mid-Year
This name change is not a standalone decision but the latest step in a manufacturing restructuring plan VinFast began in May 2026. Under that plan, VinFast transferred its entire stake in Vietnam Production and Trading Joint Stock Company — VinFast — the entity directly operating manufacturing activities in Vietnam, to a group of investors that includes Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong. The transferee group was represented by Future Research, Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.
On September 26, shareholders of the VinFast manufacturing entity approved a plan to merge with that same Future Research, Investment and Development Joint Stock Company. Under the plan, the merged entity would cease to exist once the process was complete, while the VinFast manufacturing company would continue operating and proceed with a name change.
New Name: Future VN JSC
According to business registration records filed with the Hai Phong Business Registration Office in October, the company has completed the process of changing its name to Future Production, Investment and Development Joint Stock Company, abbreviated as Future VN JSC (replacing the previous VinFast JSC). Its English name was likewise changed to Future Production, Investment and Development Joint Stock Company.
On the leadership side, Mr. Trinh Van Ngan remains General Director, while Mr. Ngo Phi Hung holds the position of Chairman of the Board; both are listed as the company’s legal representatives.
Prior to the name change, the company also significantly increased its charter capital, from VND 85,609 billion to VND 214,009 billion. Its primary registered business remains the manufacture of automobiles and other motor vehicles, alongside related fields such as auto parts manufacturing, batteries, and technology research and development.
What’s Next: The Spin-Off of VinFast Vietnam (VFVN)
Alongside the name change, a portion of the manufacturing entity’s assets is expected to be spun off into a new company called VinFast Vietnam Joint Stock Company (VFVN). Under the restructuring plan, VFVN will become a direct subsidiary of VinFast, handling higher value-added activities such as global research and development, intellectual property, after-sales services, and sales operations.
The automobile manufacturing plant in Vung Ang — where Phuc Hung previously supplied construction materials during the site’s infrastructure development — is one of the main production facilities under the newly renamed entity, and will continue operating under its new name through this restructuring period.
